Old-Fashioned Swiss Chocolate Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp organic cornstarch
  • 2 eggs
  • 1.5 cups or 12 oz evaporated milk
  • 1 stick (4 oz) butter
  • 4 oz unsweetened melted baking chocolate
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Cream butter & sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well.
  4. Fold in melted chocolate.
  5. Mix in baking powder, soda, and salt.
  6. Stir in cornstarch, then alternate flour & milk.
  7. Add vanilla for extra flavor.
  8. Pour into greased pans and bake at 325°F for 20-25 minutes.
  9. Cool & frost (or enjoy as-is)!
